Philippines Entrepreneurship

Two days ago I found Gonegosyo.net Philippines Entrepreneur website for the first time. This site is first class and top notch in my opinion. After reviewing it, signing up as a member, submitting my business listing, and surfing all around it for hours, I've found this site to be one of the best sites in the Philippines for empowering Filipinos to taking control of their personal, business, and financial lives through entrepreneurship and business ownership.

Activity Knowledge

Gonegosyo.net is a site to help Filipinos become more knowledgeable about entrepreneurship, and even more important the "activity knowledge" they provide with their "get started with biz" page. Knowledge is useless without putting it into practice. Their "get started with biz" page puts knowledge into action with education training and tools such as an Entrepreneur's Toolkit, business and entrepreneur articles, financial analysis of income statements & balance sheets, marketing segmentation and pricing, business plan creation, and making investments.

Philippine Entrepreneurs

The Gonegosyo.net site layout is great, and the speed is super fast. Their site description is "The business resources site of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship containing articles, news, mentoring program, forums, directory, and classifieds."

Entrepreneur Mentoring

They've got this "ask for help" section where you can ask questions of leaders in different industries of Philippine business. This is pure empowerment! Education training, support and mentoring are what its all about in reaching success in the world of business. Gonegosyo.net is a site that I see the users benefiting from as a learning site, a doing site, and even more important, now being able to teach to others what they just learned at the site. Leadership is about learning, doing, and teaching it. Gonegosyo.net does of this very well.

Highly Recommended

I can't say enough good things about Gonegosyo.net. I highly recommend you surf to their site and review it for yourself. Sign up as a member, add your business listing, work and use the site.

The process to have what you want in life begins with knowledge. Then set dated personal business goals by creating a mission statement for your life and working it everyday. Then create, have, or buy a personal business plan that you can act from. Then take action! All the information in the world will do you no good if you don't put it into practice. Once you do these four things, success is not a matter of if its going to happen . . . its now a matter of when it will happen.

Gonegosyo.net "About Us" Page

In January 2005, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed Mr. Jose Concepcion III as consultant for entrepreneurship development. Knowing he would not be able to champion the Filipino entrepreneur's cause alone, and determined to present a serious effort from the private sector, he invited outstanding individual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial families to incorporate a foundation committed to an advocacy of multiplying the number of business-owning Filipinos, hoping it would create wealth and employment for invigorating the country's economy.

The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE), a non-stock and non-profit organization registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission, has one vision in mind: to make the Philippines an Entrepreneurial Nation. It hopes to instill among Filipinos a mindset of optimism and a culture of entrepreneurship and to turn them into competitive entre- and intra-preneurs.

With the same vision, eight entrepreneurs co-founded the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship. The trustees compose of highly recognizable names in the Philippine business landscape, namely - Mr. Concepcion, CEO of RFM; Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awardees Mr. Tony Tan Caktiong (Jollibee Foods Corp.) and Mrs. Socorro Ramos (National Bookstore); Taipan scions Harley Sy (SM Investments Corp.) and Vivienne Tan (Entrepreneurs School of Asia); Splash Group of Companies founder Dr. Rolando Hortaleza; GMA Network CEO Felipe Gozon; and Joselito Campos of the Greenfields Development-Southeast Asia Food Empire.

"Teach a nation how to fish, feed the nation many lifetimes."

This statement embodies PCE's approach towards empowering the Filipinos.

Its battlecry is "Go Negosyo": a collective effort among PCE and its partners to foster a culture of enterprise, and promote innovation and the best business practices in the country by increasing the general public's accessibility to the PCE support ecosystem. This support system is composed of entrepreneur mentors from different business sectors in the country, as well as government agencies and academic institutions geared towards providing information, tools and resources to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs.
